I hit a six point once on my Harley. Killed it deader than a rock. The guy in the truck behind me walked up and asked “ You want that buck ? ” I said no, it would draw to much attention slung over the back of my bike two weeks before season. He took it home to feed his wife and three kids. Fresh witnessed kill of non game, I say cook it and eat it.

I was coming home from the lease on opening weekend about 5 yrs ago. I was coming around the beltway in Houston on the East side, (the median is very wide in places) up ahead of me I saw an 18 wheeler pulled over and then in the median I saw a small buck with 2 hispanic gentlemen with large wrenches hot on his tail going across the median.

The buck had obviously been hit by the truck and was in a bad way, but still strong enough to elude his pursuers. They were headed towards the feeder road on the East side of the beltway so I turned around and hot tailed it in hopes of saving the buck from "Death by Wrench". By the time I got over there, a crowd had gathered along the feeder road and there was a standoff between the hispanic gentlemen and the buck, his front leg was dangling and he was bleeding profusely from the mouth.

Now that they had the deer cornered, they were scared to go in and close the deal, I will admit, the deer looked very capable of defending himself. I pulled up and pulled out my Ruger 77/22 and people scattered, I heard a women screaming, everybody was looking at me like I was crazy, but all I wanted to do was end that poor deers suffering, I motioned for the remaining wrench weilding pursuer to clear out from behind him and ended the whole ordeal.

The two pursuers immediately rushed to the deer and drug it up to me, one of them said, "Hey, wait right here and we'll split it up", I decided against being a part of a deer processing on the side of a busy highway, road hunting in broad daylight was enough excitement for me. I let them have "my share", but I didn't get out of there without an LDP!!

Wow: Discharging a firearm in the city. Taking of game from the road. You were darn lucky to get out of there.
Two weeks back my 2 youngest members found a deer that had been hit 2 miles north of LLano and called me for advise. They wanted to shoot it. I told them to drive away and the G/W is on the way. They asked how I new the G/W was on the way and I answered "because I am calling him now" Click hummmm....

I was on my way to work and saw a deer get hit its two left legs broken. The Car kept going so I stopped. Worth noting I carpool with three managers. Anyway I had a shotgun in my truck but decided to call the warden. Warden said he could not authorize me discharging a fire arm. But I could hit him with a rock or slice his neck open with a knife. I looked at the managers in my truck who already named the deer and decided that was a no go. Then the warden said I could line up my tire and run over her head. Well I told him he better come take care of it.

Not if you call the warden and get him to authorize it. My ex hit a deer one night not far from the house. I called the GW, he came and looked at it and told me to take it home and clean it if I wanted.

                              WOW is right!

Sorry, but I can't make myself put silly man made laws above the suffering of an animal and I apologize for straying off topic, that was not my original intent.
