    06 silverado a/c problem

the problem is that the pigtail that go's into the resister/speed controll melted into it.. burnt the pigtail up pretty good along with the black wire that is in the harness.. the resister/speed controler is not a problem i can get them anywhere, have any of yall had this problem and if so what did yall do about the pigtail. i have found online that you can just cut the wires up the harness enough to work with and splice and new connector. sounds easy enough, my problem is where do i get the connector.

You need to go to your dealer for the pigtail, they can sell it over the counter in parts department.

is it just the pigtail or the whole harnass, i would hope just the connecter pigtail so i can splice the wires, it just sounds cheaper that way.

contact local wrecking yards and see if they have the same year truck, take a pic of your with ur phone and go see if they are the same, if so cut the one out of the wrecked truck and splice it in to yours

I had a similar problem with my F350 when I had to change the resistor and the dealer sold just the pigtail with the connector. I would think it would be the same for the Chevy.

Any parts house selling AC Delco should carry it...dealer for sure. We usually soder and heat shrink the pigtail in to make a good solid connection.

It's been a while since I quoted one, but I believe it is usually the pigtail and connector priced out. I was thinking they were under $50, more like $30 I thought but I could be wrong. It's been about 5-6 months since the last one and my memory isn't what it used to be.
I looked it up from home, there is actually a bulletin outlining replacement of the connector and pigtail and you just splice it in.
