    cheap airfare?

What is the best website to use for airline tickets? My grandma's 85th b-day is this month and I just found out that my dad is flying to Ohio to visit her so I thought Shane and I would go and surprise her. Shane has never met her and I havent seen her in 12 years I tried using cheaptickets.com but it couldnt find anything. So whats the best and cheapest website to use? I've never bought tickets online and to be honest it makes me a little nervous.

I use Southwest everytime I travel, and it used to be a bunch. Luckily not anymore.
    Southwest.com, I go direct.

I always have the best luck with AA.com, but have used trvelocity.com with good results.

Search engine is your friend! It listed a few others but I remember this one as lots of airline sites mentioned! Sounds like a great idea as Grandmothers are PERFECT!!!

Don't know where you are flying to in Ohio. I fly to Pennsylvania every year to deer hunt and usually price tickets into Pittsburg, Cleveland and Columbus. There is usually one city that is alot cheaper than the others and then rent a car or have someone pick you up.

Thanks! I try to call her on sundays but every time I do she starts to cry when we say goodbye and it kills me. The lowest I've found is $263 including taxes, which is pretty good but I gotta talk dad into buying one of the tickets. Do you think they would be any cheaper if we were to wait until the date gets a little closer?

You could wait until it gets closer, but it is not garenteed that you will get a better deal, and the flights might be booked.

we're going to Dayton but dad said Columbus was cheaper to fly to since Dayton is so small. I'm trying to plan it so that we get to the airport about the same time Dad does. He's flying from San Jose, Ca. and Shane and I are coming from Austin. He already rented a car so we could all ride together.

No they ussually go up the closer it gets. Try being somewhat flexible on the day of the week I think Thursdays and Tuesdays are the cheapest to fly.

Southwest.com If your dates are flexible i would use the low fare calendar for that month and see if you you could get a better deal.

SW is your best bet if they service the airport you want to fly to. It's still two free bags with them, which could equal $60 or more per person. +1 on axisbuck's advice, use the low fare calander. Also after you book the tickets, keep checking you flight. If the price goes down and you call them, they will give you the credit towards a future flight. Also consider the early booking fee, if your not familier with SW's seating system, talk to someone who is.

Also check the price out of San Antonio. If it's not to far to drive it could be cheaper.
