Can somebody explain to me why the regular season for major league baseball starts on a Monday??

Why on the same day as the NCAA BasketBall Championship??

TV scheduling? Marketing reasons??

Why??

It doesn't make sense to me but maybe it will if I know the answer?!

i dont know... i thought today was the opening day with the yanks and sox...makes no sense to me...must be a Bud commish deal...

good question, typically teams play a couple exhibition games in their regular stadiums, and those tend to be Fri and Sat, that doesn't really answer your question though, as those games could just as easily be Wed and Thurs

So that all the attention will be on the Yankees & Redsox. ESPN has been bragging all week that they have the "exclusive season opener" tonight. Big market money runs the league.

Opening nights sell more tickets no matter what day of the week or what else is happening and half the teams are on the road so some will open at home thurs or fri. All about dollars.

do they still have baseball... thought it would be banned with all the steriod use and the new records that were set with juiced players and equipment... i cant bring myself to watch it anymore... corse thats just me...
