Right in the butt or low back. Turkey can't see the arrow coming if he's struttin so he can't slap it out of the way with his wing. Yes, they can do that to a slow arrow.
Take out its legs and it can't fly because it can't launch itself into the air.
Also you don't damage the breast meat which is the only thing worth eatin anyway.

shoot them either straight on or from behind that way you break their spine and they go nowhere. also recommend expandables as penetration will not be a problem. learned this the hard way, shot a bird from the side in the vitals did not find it till a week later

I shot my first Turkey last week. Scared the hell out of everyone in the frozen food section.

Lol. Through wing butt or base of neck/head. Depends on your skill level and setup. Shooting them in the head at close range from a popup can't be beat IMHO. They drop there, or you miss. Looking for a wounded turkey is not fun.

Facing away. I lost several with broadside, and nearly gave up on shooting them with my bow. Since I started shooting them from behind I don't think I have lost a single bird. I aim about 2" above where the tail feathers meet the back.

Head shots are fun when you have alot of birds! I miss more than i hit though.
