    Hunting in Nebraska

Tonight at Zach's baseball game I was visiting with one of the other dads. He is from Nebraska, and they are moving back there soon to live on his family land. He said they're covered up with deer in their corn and soybeans, and he invited me to come up and hunt.

    Score!

He didn't know if it was a drawing or OTC tags. I don't know exactly where their place is, but it sounds like it's in the eastern part of the state.

Does anybody know about the out of state license up there?

Mine cost me $190 every year. Thats my buck tag and habitat stamp. For the past couple of years when you buy your buck tag you get a "bonus" doe tag along with it.

I hunt in the south east part of the state on about 5k acres of private land.

Do you buy the tag over the counter?

Thanks. I was reading on their site, but it sounded like it was a draw. When do you buy the tag? Sounds like they start in April??

Don't get too excited. We'll see if it pans out. May have just been idle chit chat at a ball game.

I usually go the last week of Oct and first week of Nov or I will go the first two weeks of Nov so I get on the site anywhere from the first of August to the first of Oct.

Aghntr98 has a few live hunt threads in Nebraska. Seems like I've read a couple years worth of them. Might PM him and find out about the tags

OK, cool. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a drawing deadline or something.

I remember that one. I'd settle for one half that size.

Ive worked in Beatrice Nebraska several times during bow season and bought my tags OTC. Even if your deal falls thru you can still find some people there who will let you hunt. Sometimes for free some times for some money.

My avatar is a Nebraska buck. You can usually buy tags OTC starting in June depending on the unit you are hunting in. Some units are draw units that are handled differently. My tag last year was $209 plus a habitat stamp of $16. Total $225. This was a 2 deer tag. Could use first tag for either sex and second tag was doe only. They also had a season choice tag for $55 which was a tag for two does that could be used during archery, rifle or muzzleloader. Main thing is check out state website. I looked earlier this week and it was still showing last years info. Good luck and hope it all works out for you.
