Brown top will mature in as little as 60 days. It usually has to due with the amount of daylight, so the shorter days it will mature faster (a little longer this time of year). A lot of other factors, could be 60-90 days.

      Nope....

but with deer normally eating 7-8 lbs. per day and that thing lasted 90 days...I'm not too impressed

      200 / 90 = 2.2 lbs. per day

and there 5-10 cows eating on it, too? ... I'd put a pen up and just feed protein pellets

He also feeds hay, cubes, and other feed to his cattle. I just thought it might be a good long term mineral block that has some excellent nutrients in it. I definately wont stop feeding cottonseed...my deer HAMMER that chit! 250lbs in 2-3 weeks!

Found a photo of some mixtures of Browntop and other millets. I hate it when a dozer drives through my millet.

of course, if I had to rank the top three dove food sources based on my hunting experience (and I love to hunt doves)....I'd say

            1 - sesame

            2 - goatweed (croton)

            3 - sunflowers

Yeah, taken before sunrise so poor quality. Wolly croton (#2 on the list).

The bright cloud washed out the color with a few birds moving over a field.

We planted bundleflower first of March and not stalk one came up. Got five pounds of seed from Pouge fertilized like they said but nothing. Had never heared of it before but the guy said it would grow great. We also planted Lab Lab And cow peas. They are looking great but dont know whats up with the bundleflower. We are in the Beeville area any thoughts?

It was pretty cold this spring (snow in April) and March stayed pretty cold. I would speculate it was your soil temperature. A lot of natives can get established and overgrowth before it got a chance?
