For a truly GOOD safe, expect to spend at least $3k.

I am purchasing a Sturdy Safe for my next one. www.sturdysafe.com

This guy will build a safe to your specifications, limited only by your pocketbook.

This is what you can expect from most safes out there.

Here's a couple of links for you to look at. Language can be colorful so proceed at your own risk, but it will give you some real world feedback from some guys who have several thousand dollars invested in guns.

I installed a golden rod in mine a few weeks ago........seems to be working well.

Now I am trying to find a normally closed momentary switch that will turn on lights when I open the door.

we just purchased a liberty presidential safe. has plugs inside it already and comes with a dehumidifier. worth every penny, 50 gun, with room for 15 pistols on the door, 1.3 hour burn time, 1500 pounds. this baby slid into a 33 inch cubby (its 32.5 inches wide) like it was made for it. Had a safe moving company put it in. if it is stolen, they would have to take the house too

My safe was originally designed for documents and the walls are 2 3/8 thick tool resistant steel. I had the safe company I bought it from drill a small diagonal hole in the back for the goldenrod wire. No charge with purchase of safe and delivery. They are designed so you can thread the wire through a small hole so you don't need much. Not sure what they used to get through the steel. You don't need to

Measure your largest door and subtract 3/4" this will allow it to go in, but hard to take out easily.

Get one before your gunless, TSC has them for under $1,000 then wherever you put it BOLT THAT SUM POOCH TO THE FLOOR!!! Just cuz. You got a safe don't mean they're "safe". I lost four long guns and a pistol last year and over spring break they hit me again, this time though they couldn't get the guns and important stuff; just the TV.

Also don't put it in the garage easier to back a truck up and yank it out and take it.
