    Dead End String Stop

Just got one of these put on my bow. Suppose to quiten it down, but made 3 times more noise. Anyone had this same problem or use the same ?

Not sure how rubber would make more noise.. Maybe you have it adjusted wrong? I have the fuse one on my mathews but they all work the same and are basically made of the same material.. Hope you can get it figured out!

Did it seem to quiten the bow?

Are you sure it is set up correctly. Mine has a gap between the stop and the string that is about as wide as a business card or two. Mine helps but I dont think it is a huge difference between using it and not using it.

The guy at the bow shop set it up. He said that it needs to have a little tension on the string

It is suppose to be barely touching the string. Check to see if all the screws are tight.

Try playing with the distance from slightly touching to a credit cards distance from the string. It may just need a little tuning.

Mine did the same thing. Just take a wrench with you when you shoot, adjust it then shoot and repeat until it's how you like it.

Keep in mind that the string “stop” is just that. Since the stopper is a part of the riser, it will have a lot of energy hitting it. The stopper should disperse vibrations and the energy throughout the whole bow. This may be causing something else on the bow that might not be 100% snug, to create a noise. This is only a possibility, and my $0.02... I put my STS on and found out my quiver bracket wasn't snug...

Thanks for all the input. I will check everything out and do some adjustments on it. If it does not get any better, i will just eat the $60 and take it off. I am new to bow huntin and maybe this guy at the bow shop should be !

Post a pic of your bow if you would,,just curious. The stop isnt going to silence the bow just dead'n the noise a bit...Mine works great on my rezen,,and my Z7 came with one..

They are supposed to have a space of a credit cards thickness between the rubber and the inside of the string.
