    Ive never seen the attraction to raw fish. I eat it with friends, but I never crave it. Ive never had any fish that was better raw than it was cooked.
    now beef is another matter, I prefer beef raw over cooked :P

            Uncooked = Bait

            Cooked = Dinner

            You have a stronger stomach than I do, Blake! I guess I could handle the uncooked if I was alone on an island with only a soccer ball for company..

                Love sushi.

                I have to think that most that don't like it have never tried it or have had the china buffet sushi variety. Which is pretty much garbage.

                  winner winner sashimi dinner

                  for those who are speaking out like little girls ... eeeww , gross, yuck , gag me with a spoon , bait my hook , ........

                  i bet if we went to dinner, (and yes i will pay for it all ) i would have you hooked on "sushi" in no time

                  it's all about being educated and having a sushi expert order the right food for you

                  Sushi is NOT raw fish !! sushi is actually cooked rice topped with other ingredients such as fish, vegetables, shrimp, crab, etc....

                  most all of us like fried shrimp , or fried soft shell crab ... correct ?

                  how about a Shrimp tempura roll ? ... which is COOKED !!!

                  fried jumbo shrimp tails, rice, avocado , baby carrots, asparagus, snow crab , and rolled in crunchies

                  all these items (see bottom pic) are rolled in rice and cut into slices and served

                  they even have 4-5 different type sauces you can top your food with .... srirachi , sweet wasabi mayo , spicy mayo, eel sauce, etc.....

                    You're right! That stuff looks good.............had sushi once in Dallas, the raw fish kind.........it was OK, some interesting flavors, not really my cup of tea if you know what I mean. But I'd sure dive into some of the stuff you pictured, Blake!

                        Sushi is raw fish. Sushi sits on rice. Sashimi is raw fish, but does not sit on rice and is a larger piece of fish than that found on sushi.

                        Sushi 'rolls' are really an American invention; often called California Rolls.

                        Sushi-like items may have cooked seafood, but they are technically not sushi at that point.

                            I lived in Japan for 4 years, and for the first year I just couldn't bring myself to eat sushi; it's just our cultural bias, I think. We're brought up believing that raw fish is very unhealthy; it's something we *don't* eat.

                            However after I finally found the will to try it, I was hooked. I don't like all of it, but I like a good bit. I'm not so fond of the 'row' sushi, but that's okay. There are plenty of other kids. Tuna, salmon, whitefish... all very, very good.

                            If you haven't ever tried it, I'd suggest you do. There's a world of deliciousness to be had. Further, it's yet one more quill in your arsenal of survival skills; I know I can eat raw fish if I need to, and that it would be quite a nice meal!
