Jerp it is funny that you mentioned this....I placed one of those glue traps minus the staples in the entrance to the hole in the shop on the concrete fllor. I found it a day later on the other side of the shop covered in hair and run through the ringer. I had to chuckle at the trauma the stuckee must have gone through. It was then I knew I had either a giant rat or squirrel I'm gonna have to staple some down in the attic. Did you say you baited them or just placed them in crawl spaces?

You might want to rethink those vacation plans!

Man, I laughed out loud at the squirrel hair left on the glue trap. You better look out for the really ****** off squirrel with scattered bald spots. He's after you now!

I put some slices of apple where they would have to go across the traps to get to it. It was in a crawlspace so he may have been after the food or may have just happened along.

I suggest shooting them in the yard, then fixing the holes. you don't want one dying in the house and not being able to get to it. I know that first hand.

I didn't think about the younguns. I bet that is what happened to me. After 10 days of closing the room off, taping around the doors, and running a fan 24/7 in the window, the smell STARTS to go away. I now hate squirells as much as hogs.

Put a cage with a one way door over the entrance hole. They will come out in the morning and won't be able to get back in. Hopefully they are just nesting and there aren't babies yet.

After I paid someone $225 to come put a cage on one side of the house, the tree rats just went to the other side and went in. I built my own cage and it worked great. I patched both holes with wire mesh behind. They aren't getting in now.

I also have a "bird feeder" in the back yard. I can shoot the pellet gun from my couch out the back door to the feeder when they are out there. I've got a stack of tails on the bench in the back yard.

IG that is a great idea but the place the hole is located at would be dang near impossible to make it sit flush. Ill see what I can rig up.

When I first moved into this house I used to like the squirrels and fed them heavily. I quit about 5 years ago because I got tired of replacing feeders....Now they are in my attic wreaking havoc so its time to set up some new feeders and pull the ol pellet gun out of the closet.....
