This case only deals with the people in those states in the 9th Circuit. The precedent that it sets in only for those seven states.

Anyone that makes an appeal can point to this decision but it has no legal precedent except for that circuit and for that issue. For example, just because they ruled that the Pledge does not establish religion, the same court could make a different ruling in a different case that is similar.

If someone in that circuit sues over the Pledge, that issue has been settled by this precedent.

There's a strategy being proposed that conservatives not fill out their census forms, pay the $100 fine, and reduce the state's official population enough to drop the # of representatives Cali has in the Congress, meaning less liberals there to vote.

Talking about the 9th circuit and the supreme court. Look at all of the money spent on debating the legality of some very basic inherent and inalienable rights that are spelled out in the constitution. You would think that if I said I stepped in dog ****, that it would mean that I stepped in dog ****. Instead you have these people that are supposed to be educated and they try to mince words and such. If I stepped in dog **** they would try to say that I actually didnt step in it but i brushed up against it with my boot and therefore I didnt technically step in it. If I have dog **** on my boot then I stepped in it. Try walking into my grandmothers house with dog **** on your boot and tell her you didnt really step in it but you brushed it with your boot while she is looking at it on your boot and see what that gets you. Just saying ther is a lot of time and money spent in legal battles for those things that I grew up with in this country and it frustrating to watch those things you love get minimized by a bunch of people that get upset about anything where God is mentioned. You dont see these same people going after Muslims that practice Islam talking about Alah and telling them anything. I dont think they would pull the same crap that they are pulling now agianst Americans who believe in God and Jesus Christ. I know that the Koran isnt on the courthouse and in the pledge I am just saying some people get upset un-necessarily and because they are in the minority they want everyone else to conform to their wishes. If I didnt believe in God I honestly dont think it would bother me one bit if it was up there. Look at every legal and open acknowledgement of taking an oath where you state so very openly "so help me God" or "I Do". It wont be long and they will be going after that phrase saying it embarasses the witness or plaintiff and soon or later a representative will use it.
God bless us and may we praise his name and give thanks for his blessings. Alright I am done.

I hate to tell you but it is not required to swear to God to take an oath. All that you have to do is to take an oath that "I swear" or "I affirm".

A requirement to affirm God has long since been removed from the law.
