Bad name to hunting and hunters

Would like to vent about what I found at my lease. Been on it three years near Sweetwater. The lady that owns the place has two sections, I have one of them. I Have to go through the first section right of way to get to mine. Met the other leasee my first year on the lease when I was passing through to get to mine. He was on 4 wheeler on the road with gun ,beer in hand, and cooler strapped down on his way to the stand he said. He was so drunk when I got out to introduce myself he got off the 4 wheeler and I had to catch him. Nice guy but the other leasors on my side said that was normal.
A few weeks ago I went up to The ladies house with the lease money as I was there to fill feeders so I called her and asked if it was ok to bring the money buy even though it was a little early.Upon arrival she asked if I knew someone to lease the other section ( for some strange reason she didnt want one person to lease all) I said I had a friend looking which later he leased it and is still there and asked what happend to the other guy call him "BUD" ''Wieser'' She asked if I had to time to take a ride and if we could take my Ranger as she needed to get something out of the old farm house where he stayed and I obliged. When we arrived I said" you dont have to say a thing" Surrounding her old homestead was crushed beer cans and bottles just thrown on the ground in a 100 yard radius around the house and in the house. It was awful!!! She had gone over to the house to get something the first time in two years she had been there and saw that and drove right back to her new house on the place and called BUD and told him to come get his stuff he had 10 days and never come back. I told her I would clean it and she said no in a serious tone that she had plans and not to mess with it for now and Thanked me for the offer. This is the type of thing that makes it difficult to get permission to hunt and why some people wont lease or allow hunting. This guy was a older fellow and should have known better and upon leaving left it in a total mess. I wish I knew his full name and I would let him know how bad he for hunting and the reputation of hunters. I made a point to show my son the mess and Thankfully his response was what kind of lazy jerk would do this. Sorry for the length of the story I am just so disgusted with this guy I had to vent. And please dont think I am preaching about drinking I have the occasional beverage myself but that was ridiculous.

I know exactly what you mean!! I have a fella on our property who is the same way, but I can't get rid of him!! Its a family thing. If it was clean before he got there you can bet it will not be when he leaves.

At least you know he is gone!

That does suck. When my grandad leased his land he only had one rule set in stone. No hunting rabbits. Everyone got the speech and it had it's own place in the contract. We went out one day to work sheep in the off season and there were no less that 25 rabbit pelts staked out on boards around their camp. They "got the call" too

That's sickening. I'm sure thousands of landowners all over the state could tell their version of the same basic story. I've often wondered if it is part of the reason lease prices are so high - call it a premium on "jerk insurance".. Every landowner will likely lease to one eventually.

That's pathetic. The guys on my lease drink quite a few beers around the fire, but we never leave trash laying around. We haul off the cans to recycle, burn what can burn and haul away trash that doesn't burn. Even if we don't haul it off each weekend it is bagged and ready, not laying all over the place.

Some people just don't get it. I can totally understand your frustration.

Every landowner and every outfitter deals with a "Bud" at some point. Just as in life, it's people like this that make the rest of us look better!

already leased again, but the four and six and young eights can breath a sigh of relief. They are all trophies through beer goggles
