Never done it but doesn't sound like a bright idea. I need to get my stock trailer welded and waited till today to do it. This would be ill advised right? It just doesn't seem logical to mix 220 with water. Could any of you more experienced welders tell me if it's as dangerous as it sounds.

Back in 1968 I was on strike and got a job at Todd Shipyard. They put me in the bottom of a lay barge welding 2 inch pipe and standing in about 8 inches of water. You learn real quick not to put the rod in with wet gloves. I taped up a pair of channel locks and used that. had an illegal Mexican as a helper, he would just laugh when I'd scream. He quit when I told him to put the rod on the stinger
