You guys have any recommendations on how to carry both and have them easily accessible? I was looking at buying a bino strap and tryign to find some way to clip my range finder to it...any other ideas, besides a fanny pack that is.
my binos i have around the neck and going under my right arm and wear it off to the right side of my body. if i need them i just slide it up and slide them back down when done. my rangefinder i shortened the lanyard and keep it in the right chest pocket to keep it from dangling near the bowstring when at full draw
I have a tendency to drop stuff or set stuff down then after I take a shot (rifle), I'll usually be so excited that I leave it wherever I put it down at...I've lost two sets of binos like that and just bought a range finder, so I'm hoping I could find something that I could keep 'em all together like the chest straps they make for binos that I see all the time.
ronald, i use the binos strap, its made by the allen but its just like the crooked horn outfitter ones.. for my range finder i usually put it in the pocket of cargo pant, or mine (leupold) came with a carring case that actually will fit on you belt.. if i am in a box blind i just keep it in my back pack..
You mentioned rifle hunting. I have the perfect solution for binoculars, but you'll have to determine where you want your rangefinder. The best place for binos is right on your chest. That way they are handy for viewing quickly. You don't need a fancy bino strap for this. All you have to do is shorten the binocular strap so that the strap will barely fit over your head. The binos will sit right on your chest, and they won't bounce when you walk if they rest that high. They also won't get in your way when shooting a rifle at this position.
I take a long string and attach it to my rangefinder and leave my rangefinder stay under my rt arm about hip high because I always operate it with my rt hand as I typically have my bow in the left when game is close. My binos stay on a bino-system harness because I can operate them with either hand when I'm just glassing. Also the RF can be tucked into the belt of my backpack/ fannypack to prevent it from flopping around and making noise as they all tend to be make of hard plastic and are not rubber coated as often as binos. I do this whan I stalk. When I stand hunt they are in my pack and set out where I can reach and use them with little movement.
I also have the Badlands far and away the best money can buy. I keep my Leica CRF 1200 inside the case and my binos on top of them they are always together, and they have a magnet opener no zippers!
Is there a way to clip the badlands bino carrier onto your badlands back pack? Are there integrated clips already in place?
Yep the clips on your pack will clip on your bino case two on top two on bottom like a piggy back it is perfect! I will take a pic of mine here in a minute and post it here.
