Which is better to tune up a bow?

    1) The guy at Academy that doesn't know anything about setting up a bow?

    or

    2) The guy at Gander Mountain that knows a lot, but none of it is correct?

    or

    3) The guys at the local archery shop that can't seem to even glue my inserts in correctly?

Seriously guys, I need a GOOD archery shop in east Texas than can do a proper setup and tuning.

Come see " On Target " in Canton. They can handle what you got. See Brian or Carl.

This is "Rocky's" shop. I've never been but my buddy goes. Thought about driving all the way out there a time or two just from reading what he has to say here.

          Also heard good things about....

On Target Archery is an archery shop in Canton, TX. We sell archery gear; offer lessons for all levels; host leagues; and have indoor and outdoor ranges.

Go to Rocky...I've never even met him but I know the man can tune a bow.

I hear good things about "On Target" too.

Better yet, get a portable press and learn to tune it for yourself...it's knowledge that might come in handy on a hunt sometime.

IMO, if you have a 28 inch draw for example, someone with a 28" draw should tune your bow. Even then, it's better just to take the time to learn how to do it yourself to get it just right for you. Someone else's grip, anchor point, release, form, may not be exactly the same for you.

I have good shops close to me but I still bought the equipment and learned to do it myself. Only time I have to go to the shop is either late at night or on Sundays.

i agree go see rocky. ive read a lot of his post and knew he would be good. i got my new bow from him yesterday and its shooting great. he took time to explain what and why he was doin what he did, not just trying to run me in, get my money and ship me out the door. he made a customer for life. thanks richard for your help.
