I head out to weatherford to pick my son up from school yesterday and he wants to go to my buddies place in Boyd to try to shot his first hog. So we go out there and I unlock the gate and pull in and he says theres something running across the field. I look up to see a hog coming and he is about 200 yards away and kind of coming are way. I get his 243 out and get him situated across the tailgate. The hogs still coming straight at us. At 50 yards I tell my son he better shoot before the hog gets him. He shoots and the hog rolls. I couldn't be more proud of him. We go take a look and he us dead. So we drive around to look for more but don't see any. We go gut the hog and load him up and head out the gate where we are met by his neighbor. I walk over to her car and she ask if I have seen her pet hog. I said pet hog. She sez she bottle fed a wild hog and he is her pet and he will just come up to you and want to be rubbed on. I tell my son to get in the truck before he sez anything and I tell her I'll keep an eye out for him. I get in the truck and my son sez daddy I shot her hog didn't I. I tell him no that's a wild hog not hers. It's kind of funny that's all that hog wanted was to be rubbed on but instead he got lead poisoning from a 12 year old. He feels bad but I told him it not to worry we had no way of knowing.
