    Grim Reaper broadhead question

My brother in IL has lost 3 deer during the last two seasons shooting this mechanical BH. In two of the cases, he knows they were well placed shots with complete pass through and good blood trail. One was marginal and did not pass through. He uses these on the advise of a local bow shop that says they sell more of these than any other BH and the fact they shoot where his fields points hit. I sent him some 3 and 4 blade Muzzys to try, but he says they hit 2-3" left beyond 15 yards, and do not group well.
What is everyone else's experience with this BH (100gr)? BTW he shoots at about 62-64lbs. @ 31 inches.
    Thanks.

I shot the Grimm Reapers for 1 season with fantastic results. Infact, if I was to shoot a mechanical, it would be that broadhead. I shot 2 deer and a good sized hog with them and none of those animals reached 65 yards. I even found a chunk of lung the size of my palm along one of the bloodtrails left by a doe I shot with them. You can actually lock the blades back into a fixed blade design if you like, and they fly great like that as well.

Best mechancal out there, IMO. I would still be shooting them, but went back to my fixed blades.

A friend of mine swears by them. I just came back up to my hotel room from his. We drank beer, talked archery and hunting for a couple of hours, and he was raving about his Grim Reapers. He said that he may try some of the Montecs for hogs, but will not switch for deer.

Any problems he had weren't due to the head... I say that with confidence having dropped the worst bleeding toughest animal in Texas... hogs. The furthest a hog has made it after being hit with a Reaper is 30 yards leaving a profuse blood trail. Long story short Reapers are a great head and your friend needs to examine other factors as to why he is losing deer.

Shot placement/angle are 10x more important than which head is out front as long as its sharp. Just my 10 cents.
