    Non Profit

Anyone know what all is involved in creating some sort of nonprofit entity? I've got an Idea for some sort of Hunters for Education type organization, but I don't know how feasible it would be. Any help would be great.

I saw a book that was how to start a non-profit entity, it was something like Non-profit organizations for dummies. There were a few of them, visit your local book store.

You need to set up a 401c(3) corporation. Considering that you want to get the language exactly right I wouldn't try to do it without an attorney.

You can just google 401c3 and theres a lot of information on the net.

i just set up a 501c6 for our chamber of commerce here in maypearl. hope your not in a hurry and dont worry about making a profit, it will cost an arm and a leg to get the thing set up. i used www.linksnet.us email or call melanie guin (407)-857-9002 Ext. 102 . she will talk to you about what you will need and what it will cost. even if you dont use them, she is very helpful.

Oops, y'all are correct. It is 501c3.

I wouldn't even think of doing it without setting one up. Most major donors would want proof that you are a registered non-profit before they would even consider doing business with you.

Look it up on the net...it doesn't cost an arm and leg to create one. Bunch of us did this on trb.com to assist Junebug in establishing 501C in memory of his dad (FishJam). Lot's of work, but not overly expensive to set up by any means.

                Gracias

                Thanks y'all,

Tink, gofish, I'll probably give you a call within the next couple of weeks. Schools almost out so I'll have some time on my hands. I'd like to start out small, but who knows. It may grow into something big some day. God willing.
