My protein pen that's been going for almost 7 years is still being hammered. 19 sacks this past month out of a 4 tube feeder. Looks like a feed lot from the tracks in the mud. Normally, April/early May is my lowest comsumptive time period due to the greening of the mesquite. They really go for those fresh, high protein leaves. My pen up on the hill has only had about 5 sacks used since the first of April. Every deer that came in ate a little while I was in my blind turkey hunting, but they just aren't eating much. In the last month, between Dog, Bower and I they emptied the 55 gallon feeders, almost emptied Dog's 9 sack 85 gallong feeder and ate 24 out of my two feeders. My BNL has two 1500 lb feeders and over that same time period, they ate probably 30 sacks out of his two. It's there for them, I want them to eat it.
