trailer brake question??

there is a little peice (about the size of a quarter) that can be put on the side of the tongue of my trailer to keep the brakes from engaging. any idea what that peice is called or where i can find one??? i have been having some electrical issues with the trailer and sometimes the brakes are not releasing when in reverse. im going to fix the wiring issue, but would like to have that little piece just in case....

it sounds like it is part of your break away system i recently built a gooseneck and had the same problem

Put two washers or quarters in there and electrical tape them. Same thing.

it it the safety mechanism that activates your brakes in case of runaway(EBAK), should be wired into your existing system,

the trailer supposedly came with a piece that goes in there and i wanted to get the right piece. i have used a quarter before and guess i can do a little grinding on one and tape one in.
