    Boating in the Houston Area?

We live in Pearland and would like to find some places to go tubing, wake boarding, jet skiing etc... in the area. I've been told clear lake, but have no idea where to launch and go. With Spring around the corner I thought I better start looking.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

I live on Lake Houston and it is where we do our tubing, wake boarding and Jet skiing. The south end of the lake is the deepest part. There is a marina on FM 1960 that you can launch your boat.

I also live on lake houston and do a ton of boating out there. Theres a few boat ramps but the marina is probably the best bet.

Watch out on Lake Houston if you have a true wake board boat. I mean with an inboard and a shaft and prop running out the bottom. This lake is very shallow in part and depths shift all the time. Usually in the best wake boarding areas are are some of the shallow spots. It is not a bad spot just be careful We never hurt our boat but I have seen and heard about many nice boats getting messed up out there. If you have a boat where you can trim the motor up you will be fine.

That's probably the closest place. That park is right on Nasa Road 1. From there, you can boat Clear Lake or go up stream to Taylor Lake.

On the other hand, you could head south of Pearland to Chocolate Bayou. I grew up water skiiing down there, however, I wouldn't say it's very nice.

Lake Houston is where we go also. We put in for free at the city park by the Dam

Chocolate Bayou ain't too bad, my sister lives near there, there's also oyster creek, but it's pretty shallow in some spots.

Speaking of Lake Houston, anyone know where I can find a fishing report for Lake Houston at? I thought about taking my canoe out and paddling around one day when the wind calms down some.
