need an official scorer for axis buck

I have never had an animal officially scored and need some input... I killed an axis buck almost 1 year ago and got it back from taxi not long ago and have contemplated having it officially scored to enter into SCI and ROE just for kicks and grins. The taxi scored it after drying period but isnt a registered scorer... it scored 164.95 unofficially and if I still can get it scored for record books I would like to do that. Also has it been too long? And I have been told I need kill photos? (which I do have)... And from knowledge how will it rank? I live in the DFW area so if anyone knows a person who can score it officially for me that would be awesome.

This buck scored 174" and I think the biggest buck we could find anywhere was the SCI #1 and it scores around 180"

I'm in the picture but it was actually killed by a customer of mine. After he killed it we immediately began trying to find out what the #1 buck scored.

Good luck finding out what you can. There is info scattered all over the web and people doing their own thing everywhere.

I read something after harvesting mine that the current record was 182" and some change but kinda blew it off because I figured there had to be others bigger, but it was broke into several categories including typical and non typical and the country it was shot in. One thing that got me was the deduction for velvet which is fine in cases like my moms who's was in full velvet but on mine the tips were already coming out and gained very little in mass if any at all but yet the deduction is still the same? Its not a huge deduction but still dropped the score several inches.

I dont know about SCI, but I have the most current copy of ROE at the house. I can take a look tonight and see what the top Axis with a bow is.
