Hey guys, I have been stopped twice coming out of wally world with my 38. It seems it sets off the metal detectors. So far I"ve not been hassled too much, but it"s still a pain in the arse. Anybody with similar experience ? I have my chl and I exercize my right whenever its legal.

If it's like 90% of the other walmarts, those are not 'metal detectors' but instead shoplifting detection devices. Which sense a small metalic strip that can be deactivated.
I had the same problem years ago, but I wasn't carrying a weapon found out after much frustration that a new wallet I had purchased had a 'metal strip' (detectable by the scanners) sewn inside it. I had to litterally tear the wallet open and rip it out, because it would not deactivate. I would bet your having a similar issue!

over the weekend the family went around to several stores and all of the stores alarms went off when we left. i was starting to wonder but turns out my daughters jacket has a tag by the how to wash tag that has a very thin sensor in it. a girl working in one of the stores knew to check for this and showed us. we walked up the the register with her and she cut it off for us. sure enough on the back of the tag it says to remove after purchase.

yep, what they said above. Had a pair of gloves that did this in Walmart. I finally figured it out, went to the register and asked them to run them over the "deactivator" and that cured that problem. Most mfgs will put the sensor in the garment, wallet, whatever, but if the store you purchase it from doesn't use the detector at the door you are none the wiser until you activate the one when you go in tho walmart. You should also set the same detector off going in if it is a missed tag.
