    Where have my hogs gone?

All but one lone boar left around 6 months ago and haven't came back. I don't have many deer around and this was my main target. I bought some grimreaper and put it out but it didn't bring anymore in. The only thing I can think is the neighbor started corning his roads at night and shooting them, I would think that this would just push them on me.

Hogs will move to a different area from time to time. They probably moved to an area that has lots of coastal fields. They like to root the fields and get grubs this time of year

Same thing. It's slow at our place in southern Young. There are a lot of folks trapping them around us.

On our lease they seem to come and go based on whether or not the creeks are running. When they dry up the hogs vanish. Eventually we'll get a rainy stretch - the creeks fill up - and then they're everywhere - you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a hog.

As said above they come and go. Almost like they make big circles looking for fresh ground. They will be back!

Winter weeds, rain, and winter root weeds change their pattern. Corn just doesn't compete with great tasting fresh green stuff. They will be back. Unless you have a high fence and work them hard with dogs you can't wipe them out.

we are still seeing them on our place. we see them more in the open pasture areas now that the acorns have completely depleted in the woods. this year was a mass acorn crop and they didnt have to move about much in the woods especially when your place is 90% wooded.
like stated above, they will move out of areas more so than deer if pressured, reduced water areas, lack of food sources, etc...
they love to hang around low lying bottom areas with thick cover and water.
don't worry. at their reproduction rate it won't be long there will be some return!
