    Waaayyy Off Topic?

Isn't every topic, barring rudeness, a valid topic around the campfire?

I would think a discussion about golf or golf courses or even Democrats vs. Republicans is more valid than arrow weight around a campfire. How boring would an evening in camp be if we ony discussed draw weight etc...

      I'll go along with that.

Lets face it.......the dog days are upon us.

Metro - I'm with you, bro. I think the biggest added value that being a part of an online community like this offers is exposure to views and/or information that I would have otherwise not been exposed to, whether that information is bow related or not. I will agree that there have to be limits as to what should and should not be discussed on here, but I am a member on a number of other boards and this one seems to be a little too strict at times on closing threads. But, that's not my call to make. I'll just continue to enjoy this place as long as I can and try not to start too much trouble.

I think the TBH moderators do an excellent job, perhaps a little too good at times

Somebody has to be the adult, and it's got to be hard for them sometimes when things heat up and you just can't wait them to explode. Then you see the lock on the thread!!!! DOH!

If you scan through the most recent posts,at any given time the "off topic" threads out number "on topic" by about 2 to 1.Thats what makes this site so great.

I think most topics are valid around a campfire, but having to read things like "it's raining" or "i bought new socks" sure is getting old.

Now I have seen it all around the campfire.

I have seen off topic threads yes....... But off topic threads about off topic threads? This is a new one to me.

Sure, all discussion belongs around the campfire so long as the topic fits within the confides of the rules. Heck, your not going to put a thread about Nancy Pelocie in the hunting reports section........ Though it would be nice to see an on topic post about her there.

Sika you dont need socks just run thru the woods barefoot, its what I do most of the time.

This thread is getting pretty boring so I guess I will spice it up a bit.

A long, long time ago in a house surrounded by tall trees, Michael made the decision to keep this fire "grandma friendly". The problem is, many Grandmas actually LIKE photos of scantilly clad babes and somewhat obscure humor.

You are never going to please everyone so that's why we have moderators. I sometimes wish we had an R-rated section but then as soon as it was allowed, I'm sure I'd take offense to somebody else's interpretation. The easiest solution is to keep it clean and keep it handgrenade close to bowhunting and family topics.
