Ok, I know most of us here are big on our rights. And the census takers will be door knocking soon. Do you know what they will ask? Do you have to answer their questions by law? Watch this Youtube video. It answers some questions, and also made me think more about all this. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsDhkPym01k"]YouTube- The Census Is Getting Personal[/ame]

Ole Jerry keeps a new video going dont he.I am actually surprised this is the first thread on TBH I have seen about the NAZI census takers.

I didn't see a link to the video in post 1. I think, unless you are lucky to be chosen for the extended form (there was a thread on here a while back) its only a 10 question census this time around. Shortest one ever. Pretty much how many people live in your house, ethnicity, rent or own... nothing too ground breaking.

My understanding is that they will not come to your residence unless you do not mail in the original form. If someone comes to your door, do not let them in, but ask to see their credentials (badge). If I recall, you only have to tell them how many live in your immediate residence. Do NOT provide any vital info. such as S/S.

this is to me the most important part of the census:
"The data collected by the census also help determine the number of seats your state has in the U.S. House of Representatives."
and this is based off of the number of citizenry within the state, so, answer the 'how many people live in the house' question.
if the census is disregarded, well, this is how we get under represented hence giving more densely populated or states with higher numbers within the respondents get more represented or in some instances, over represented
just saying....
I had a census worker come by my house about 3 months ago....low and behold it was my old Scoutmaster! had not seen him in 20 years.
anyway, just saying...if you think about it, places like new york, california, illinois, etc, places where those people who most of us do not recognize live, end up controlling the lives of Texans and lesser populated states.
If I remember correctly, the population as it stands within the census is also how each state is awarded it's particular number of electoral votes in the electoral college for the election of the president.
