Nursing Hog Good or Not?

I will now in a few weeks. Shot one last night. I dont see why not. I've shot whitetail does that had fawns nursing and they were fine.

Personally I dont think they are but others have said they couldnt taste any difference. Wouldnt stop me from droppin one though.

Have you shot one that isn't nursing or about ready to drop? LOL! Seems that's all I see with sows. I couldn't tell you if the meat tastes different, but I can tell you that it's good! If you prep it right.

im sure it will taste the same...

since i usually have to pay to hog hunt because our place doesnt have any, i never shoot the nursing sows. its generally against the ranch rules. makes since. they want future hogs to make future money

one of the guys on our lease shot a big ol sow that was pregnant. when the guts fell out, one of the guys says, "oooo, this pig has been eatin squirrels!" He freaked out and lost his lunch when he found out they were baby pigs!
