How is the hunting around Rising Star

Just wondered if anyone knows how the hunting is around the Rising Star area. May have a lead on a place there but have never hunted the area before. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Some really good deer over there for sure. Seen alot of them at night when I was driving to our old place north of Brownwood.

more deer as you go south, were 4 miles north and have a decent population

Where exactlly is it and who is the landowner. pm me if you don't wanna say publicy. My grandparents have lived in Rising Star/ Pioneer area thier whole lives so i know alot of the landowners in the area. My grandparents place is 4 miles west on 36 and a mile north. This past season was strange for the area. The whole first week of season i'd see on average 20+ deer a sit. After that I only saw 7 deer the rest of season. I did see more bigger bucks this season than I have ever seen in the area. I killed a 147 there in 1997 and its my best buck to date.
