At the local level in my city, county and school district the stupids are running the show. They spend money irresponsibly and for the wrong reasons. The common sense business people making a buck do not want to get involved anymore. The political machine in place has turned so many stomaches that the common good hearted man has no interest anymore. Politicians are scum 80% of the time and the good guys cant get anything done b/c of the rest of the scum buckets out vote them. The whole system is screwed up

I hope we have another minor revolution in this country before I die b/c I think that's what it is going to take to change anything. I wish it wasn't so but that's my opinion. I live on the border in a small town were you know everything that goes on and I wonder if it's the same in a big town but the players are smarter. I get so mad at times and then tuck my head back in my shell and just worry about my own s*tu*ff. Salty Mule you talk right about garnering support, I've put 80 people in a school board meeting to protest a school board decision, but the common man with his plate already full doesnt have the time or energy to do what you ask. The entire population has to stand up in every state and just flat out say NO MORE. We need a leader to gather and rally us and he hasn't presented himself yet(Beck?) Until then we will walk on our happy go luck paths and keep complaining and whining over a beer at a party or local pub and nothing will change. I paid over $100,000 and under $198,000 in taxes last year and I aint ever seeing any of that money again. I support local candidates in my area that see the same way I do and that I think I can maybe benefit from in the future. Right or Wrong that's the way it is every where. What do we do ?
I agree with all of this. And until we get term limits, pay cuts at the top, get the lobbyists in check, and quit letting them buy votes with welfare.......nothing will change. And we all know who gets to decide all those things.

This guy made some good and valid points, and it sounds like he did all he thought he could to change things when he was alive........that doesn't change the fact that he was a **** coward, and a terrorist.....is there a difference?

Obviously until we get together as a group and do something about it. But from the sounds of most the people on here will just keep complaining because we don't have the "time" or "money" to do anything. Oh yeah the other excuse is nothing will ever change. So tho answer your question FOREVER!

ok it has finally reached a tipping point for me. to all who think the system is bad, and it should be different, how many of you are running for any type of public office? and gathering a group of like minded people to help you overcome the incumbent fractured entitled law makers we have now? how many are actually qualified to hold a position as a law maker? I myself am not on either count. What I am is a proud american who is willing to make any sacrifice needed to so people can get on an ARCHERY forum and whine and complain about what is right and what is wrong with the world today. There are a lot of other countries where people would be and still are being killed daily for their disbelief in the government system they are ruled by, and chose to speak out about it!

There are also a lot of other countries that have incredibly different ways of life, such as socialized health care, and incredibly low fuel costs, but even that comes at a cost. Nothing is free, and someone has to pay for it one way or another, be it through income tax, and taxing goods and the likes, or services and goods costing so much, only a few can afford them. And if everyone here were totally honest with themselves and others, there isnt any other place you would rather live. And if there is another place you would like to be, then get to it, and stop fueling the fire of anarchy by being a complaining non contributing citizen!!!

It is very unfortunate that this man felt he had no other option than to try to take as many lives out with his miserable existence. From what I read, all of his misfortunes were a creation of his own doing. His GREED was the motivating factor behind making and losing at least 4 fortunes, and he wasnt willing to accept that is was his personal weakness that led to his undoing. It had to be some one elses fault, because he was a very smart engineer type, and smart people dont fail unless it is at the hands of others.

As of right now there are green screeners that actually know people tha were hurt in this act of domestic terrorism, and there are also folks who are charged with maintaining the peace and order around this induced scene of chaos. So IMO it makes more sense to worry about how we can keep them out of harms way, and assist with a speedy recovery for the wounded, than waste any more time writing or reading about how things NEED to change by people who are not willing to sacrifice the time and effort to create the change.

You and bowhuntntxn were not alone. I'm sure many others who've followed this thread have had the same thoughts, but have chosen not to publicly post them (like me, until now).

I read today that someone actually put up a Facebook page, complete with Gadsen flag, singing the praises of this criminally insane individual and it had attracted a couple hundred "fans" before Facebook pulled it. http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/02...y6223132.shtml

                  and

On the other end of the crazy scale, Internet conspiracy theorists - including Austin radio host Alex Jones - were quick yesterday to declare that the plane crash was staged by the government "to demonize the tea party movement." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Jo...8radio_host%29

I hope and pray this insane man's deed does not "inspire" others to perform new acts of domestic terrorism. Anarchy is NOT the way.

If one thing comes out of all of this, it's that it has brought attention to what he ranted about....which a large part who have read his diatribe have admitted his points...and many more who will not admit but agree with.

realistically, his purpose was to 'martyr' himself in his personal view of freedom.

again, I do not agree with the method, but it was a means to an end

I personally will be reminded of the act and the people that were hurt, several times a day as I have to pass by the location to get to and from work and I think of those involved every time.

lastly, (cliche time) always remember and never forget, no matter how wrong someone may be, you mess with the skunk, you get the stink....

Talk about insensitivity, chapman motors has a small plane flying over the crash site dragging an advertisement

I guess small aircraft with banners can get you the most bang for your buck on advertising as I know i sure would take a 2nd look at all aircraft i see these days.
