Watched that plane fly over my shop at PRC. Didn't think about it till after I heard the noise and saw the smoke. I was thinking the plane seemed real low.

Among other things it sounds like he was one of those hard-core tax protester types. You know, the guy who starts out saying "The Federal Income Tax is unconstitutional!!" "You don't legally have to pay your taxes, I can prove it!" Then they start quoting from books by Irwin Schiff who is the pope of the tax protest movement (He's also in prison for....not paying taxes.) I've dealt with a few of these guys over the years and there is no arguing with them.

Suicide. A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

          Prayers for all those involved.

I'm surprised it took that long. It's about a 2 minute procedure after a 5 minute phone call. I don't really understand why as it is archived/cached in several places.

Yup, and for his taxes also. More than likely he didn't have his estate in order prior to this. It's kinda strange that his wife and daughter had went to a hotel last night... She'll be investigated and it's assumable that if she was in a hotel, she knew what his plans were and didn't do anything about it. She'll get pinched. Sad things going on like this in America doesn't make it better, doesn't make the person stronger, doesn't "get even", doesn't make a point. Well, actually it does make a point. The point that he couldn't and wouldn't control his own actions and never did anything to help himself. Only worried about trying to get the tax laws changed to help himelf out. Each and every time, more and more in debt. If you keep reaching into the fire to grab a burning log, you're going to get burned every time and each time will be worse. He didn't have the common sence to back away, say to himself, "this will never work" and find a different profession where he wasn't fighting the IRS tooth and nail every year instead of trying to find a way to put the shaft to them. Yes, no one likes to pay taxes and I'm not one to get things stirred up into a political debate but he was beating his own dead horse. I feel sorry for the daughter (age unknown) and all victims involved. Praying for the people in the building, the public servants (ems, fire, leo, fbi, etc.), all families involved, the city of Austin, the great state of Texas and good ole USA. As bad as we "think" it is here, if you don't like it, i've got a boat you can use...

*edit* this is not directed to anyone or any posts on this subject. Just a little rant...

Funny, I didn't really see it that way. You may be correct, but from his side of it (admittedly probably scewed) it sounds like he was trying to do what was right and legal, and everytime he seemed to step in a big pile of...manure. Many of the things he said about our gorvernment are beliefs of mine, especially as of lately. The bailouts are rediculous, and with who's money...mine and yours! Tax protestor...maybe, but how else are we supposed to get "representation." Remember, history repeats itself, and no matter what the history books teach, the American Revolution of the late 1700's was NOT solely or even mainly a result of a desire for religious freedom but rather the result of taxation without representation. The Boston Tea Party was only one example proving this, there were others but they don't teach them in schools. Religious freedom was but a mere PART of the reason for the revolution. I genuinely fear that if our government doesn't wake up and begin to listen to the people, we will see more and more of these "nut jobs" committing desperite actis of violence until our great nation crumbles into anarchy and revolution.

My thoughts exactly! Do the authorities not realize this as well? Seems that removing his website content would be an exercise in futility. So why do it?

kind of wondering why it took this long for a wing nut to lose it and do something like this...but it finally happened...and this most likely won't be the last...

And here is the ONE thing that is eating away at me. If this guy had the IRS take away his life 4 times, and still had enough money to afford a $250K+ airplane to fly into a building, and another $40K plane to leave on the ground, plus a house to burn down, and not to mention vehicles I am sure, how bad was it really for this guy?

Lazy hippie non conformist that just didnt want to get with the program, and it has been and will always be SOMEONE else's fault...

Agreeed Dont get me started. Need a few more threads to explain how I feel on the subject. Every single thing you do is taxed. Including death. We are taxed for an item, taxed on the materials to make said item, taxed on the fuel to ship the item taxed on labor to build the item, taxed on the sale of the item, and taxed on the money that is used to buy the item. ERRRRRGH
