bowfishing lake lewisville

any one know if lake lewisville is any good for bowfishing? i cant for the life of me find any carp, or should i just waste the gas and drive up to the trinity?

what are you looking for? Carp? I usually see Carp more in the spring in the shallows. As for Gar man I have shot some nice Gar over the years. But once again the best time to go is in the spring.

Lewisville stays pretty muddy. Ray Roberts not so bad depending on the rain. Cedar Creek is fun in the spring/summer under the dock lights.

I see carp a lot bass fishing in the back of coves in the spring time. I see more on Ray Roberts but I do see them on Lewisville also.

Note to self, I need to rig a bow for bow fishing.

When you find some fish let me know. If anybody wants to get together fishing period, let me know. I know jack about the area. I prefer not to go to Isle of Dubois State Park though, that's where my boy drowned.

Anything North of Bucks Creek is always good in the Spring.

Lake Texoma any rocky area seems to hold them all the time. If you really wanna make it fun, get in a kayak and go after them. Just have a plan on what to do with the fish if your yakkin it!

I have Bowfished it once,I think it was in May. We saw quite a few carp and gar.

I know this thread is old, but I just moved to The Colony and I'm looking for folks to Bowfish with. I have an extra bow all set up as well if anyone wants to give it a try.
