    Hiring process begins for fall 2007 new operator class

    5/11/07 – In early fall 2007 Houston Refining will conduct another New Operator Initial Training class and we expect to receive about 1,000 resumes for acceptance into the class. As a Houston Refining employee, you are an excellent referral source for this opportunity. If you know someone who would be interested in being a refinery operator at Houston Refining, please share the information below with them. Due to an anticipated large number of applications, candidates are encouraged to submit their information as early as possible.     Anticipated Test Dates: June 5 and June 6, 2007



    Anticipated Training Start Date/Date of Hire: September 4, 2007




    All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and follow the normal hiring process (testing, interviews, etc).




    Minimum Requirements:



    High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without Visa sponsorship (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident) and successfully pass entry level aptitude tests to be administered in Houston, Texas.




    Other Desirable Education and/or Experience:



    Process Technology Certificate or an Associates Degree in Process Technology or Instrumentation; prior experience in a chemical/refinery plant in an operator/technician role, plant instrumentation, or experience in a mechanically intensive job function; college level coursework

    A few of us already represent out there. Still 8 hr shifts but that should change within a year or two with all the new classes they've hired. I like working there!

      I got hired at the Channelview plant last October and it is a great job with very respectible benifits. Broken Arrow (my brother) has been with then since 90'.

          I work there too beside TXOUTLAW in the same unit. Great place to work with great benefits!

            No complaints here. My wife and I both work there. I'm in Maintenance and she works in HSE.

              yep I'm there also, was in maintenance and now I am in the Turnaround Group, and love it.
