I love them an they are VERY sharp. I did buy the flat sharpener from their site and it works great to re-sharpen the broadheads after a kill shot. I'm a G5 believer. Going to try the new expandable soon.

      Dull

I bought 5 packs of g5s and none of them are sharp or what I call sharp, which means it shaves, and I know it don't have to shave to kill but it helps with a blood trail. I could kill deer with a field point if I wanted to but you won't get much of a blood trail

Easiest heads to sharpen for me. The design is so that you lay them on a stone and sharpen one side of two blades at the same time. Turn two more times and you have a sharp head.
The carbon steel are easier to sharpen.
LOVE them, been shooting them since they hit the market and have killed everything from bobcats to blue wildebeest.

They did MAJOR damage on a hog for me. Looked like Michael J Fox was walking through the woods with a can of red paint. I wouldn't hesitate buying another pack of them.

I sharpened them as described above but I've lost faith in the heads since they have been leaving poor blood trails.
Several other posts on here about the strength, ease of sharpening and poor blood trails.

They are good heads and can be as sharp as any nonreplaceable 3 blade head. I like the cs better and if you want an even better head look at the vpa 3 blade. Mark the edges with a sharpie and use a really fine grit stone or strop to finish. Don't leave them in foam or loose in a broadhead box as they will dull quickly.

                G5 Montecs have my respect.

I got a set a few years ago when my son was shooting 40lbs. Cut on contact, solid, yada yada.

Fast forward a few years. Now we are both shooting 60+lb bows and Slick Tricks. I carry 2 of the G5 Montecs in my quiver for coon arrows.

This weekend --> I shoot at an auodad, first shot, he ducks the arrow. Well, I'm not going to waste another Slick Trick on a rat, so I nocked-up a G5 Montec. Good shot at 25yds and he stumbled 10 yards before crashing down, DRT.
