Hmmm, not sure. Duracoat is a firearm finish. Don't know if and auto paint guy could do it or not. It's is typically applied with an airbrush.

Is that Duracoating or water transfer (film dipping)? Sounds like water transfer.

In looking on their website, they have a kit that you can buy and DIY for ~$60. Comes with the air brush gun and everything.

They also have a Durabake version that comes in an aerosol can. I may just jump in do it myself. I just want to coat some PMAGs and standard mags. Not quite ready to jump off into doing a gun just yet.

It is pretty simple stuff. I painted an AR for a young lady the other day. Putple with green branch camo. It is cureing now, I'll post pics when done.

I would appreciate that and any tips you can share.

I'm leaning towards going the DIY route.

They sell a kit on their website that says it will do 2 long guns or 4 handguns for about $55 plus shipping.

Probably about $150 for someone to do one for you.

They have a booth for spraying too. Almost all water transfer companies utilize some kind of clear coat post dipping. Last I checked they had all sorts of duracoat colors.

It is a two part epoxy paint. Measuring is pretty critical. Degrease surface and spray, clean up with laquer thinner and reducer. It is thin enough to flow easily.

If you are doing a single color on a pistol frame, buy the paint. I'll spray it for a cold one and the rest of the paint. I think it was about $18/ bottle.
