Has anyone done this?
The only thing I am not sure of is which release to get, I've got big hands.

I tend to lean toward the Carter releases because they are designed so that you can easily adjust not only the sear travel but the trigger pull as well. I really hate those releases which either have a bunch of travel before the sear trips or you are paranoid to even touch the trigger for fear it will shoot..
For hunting I prefer the handheld releases or thumb triggers as y’all call ‘em.. but no cord tying them to me instead I simply clip it to the loop and let it hang, no fumbling at the last minute to connect and I always know where it is..

thats good to hear, the reason I was thinking of switching is because when you hunt in the cold its hard to wear any glove at all with a wrist release but you can just clip a thumb release on the loop and leave it there til you get ready to shoot. which allows you to wear a glove until the shot presents itself. also I would clang my release on the stand every so often and that is eliminated as well

I have made the switch. Started practicing with it last year but didn't take it to the deer pasture. That is all that I am shooting now and will hunt with it next deer season. I went with the Carter Chocolate Lite 3 finger. Javi said it all, you can adjust out the creep and they are super crisp.
