I have had so many of my friends tell me to run away from Ken. I have never been there or met the man but my friends are very honest people so I believe them. You won't find nicer people than at Smithfield.

He worked on the bow and helped me for over an hour too! He gave me alot of helpful hints and although I know how to sight in a bow he stood there, held my arrows and BSed while I was sighting it in.

It's amazing that two people can have such polar opposite reactions to the same person.
I think the guy is great.

I asked him if he would ask them to stop so we could shoot and he said sorry they are already shooting. We left there in a huff and the more I thought about it the more it ****** me off. I called him the next day and told him what I thought about it and he offered to let us come back and shoot for free. I kindly said thanks but No thanks. That was 10 years ago and I haven't been back in there until this past spring. I was in the area by his shop and decided to stop in and see what he had. There were 3 people in the shop counting me. I was browsing around and he finished up with the guy he was helping and asked the next guy in line what he could help him with. The guy tells him that he has an atntelope that he needs scored. Ken was a complete Ahole to the guy and tells him that scoring animals isn't his priority, paying customers are. He then asks me what I need and I tell him "nothing sir. Have a good day". I won't be going to arlington bowhunters any time soon.
You were late, yet you expected him to hold the room for you? If you're late, you wait. Simple.
And the scoring story... if you walk in and stand there expecting to get something for free while a paying customer waits, you obviously don't get it. I know it wasn't you, but the principle is pretty simple.

That story did more to convince me that he (unlike lots of bow shop owners who have had to close their doors) understands the business side of it.

I dont exactly agree that this man knows the bussiness side because every person that comes in his store is a customer maybe not that day but could be the next day and as far as being late if he was going to let some one else fill the spot he should of let the people know this and work with them on getting them another shoot time.
I just bought my LE Z7 from allstar in mesquite and I bought my Reezen from them also great people.

I went by Allstar in Lewisville again today to tweak my bow some and shorten some arrows and to shoot the Z7. Yet again extremely helpful, Dyron helped me out and I will be back there in a couple of weeks or less to get my new Z7. Not the best price around but I would rather support a good shop and they will be the guys I take my bow to anyways

Ken has a very succesful bow shop. He has a lot of loyal customers. I am no longer one of them.
