    Removing inserts?

Really they are nibbs. I have some CXL350 Linejammers that I need to remove the nibbs. I tried holding them in boiling water then dipping them into cold water to see if that would kind of shatter the glue. No worky. What is something else to try?

why dont you just cut off the back end to get the length right? Are they epoxy sealed? if they are, ill bet you dont get them out!

Get a drill bit just big enough to slide freely inside the shaft. While pointing the arrow in a SAFE DIRECTION whip the arrow down like you whip your dog. It will come fling out of there! If that doesn't get it out it aint comin out. BE CAREFUL!

Use a lighter or small torch and heat the point slowly, pull with pliers, heat and pull, heat and pull be careful to do this a little at a time. If some of the carbon comes out just tirm it up with a arrow cut off saw.

I have 2 different lengths. A couple of each are busted at the nock end. The longer ones have a lighter nibb in them and I want to try one in a shorter one. The longer ones actually shoot faster than the short ones. I want to figure out how to get them out in case I want to change all of them later. Don't want to mess up any more shafts.

I have taken nibbs out with a bit. I really works. Just be careful. PM me if you need to.

This is all you can do. If they were installed with epoxy you still may not get them out.

I have removed some that were installed with epoxy. Use a install/remover tool for inserts. Screw it in the insert, heat with a propane torch, don't heat the carbon shaft, and just pull it out. Done this a few times with no problems.

I put in a field point, heat up the field point with a flame and then pull the field point and insert out with plyers.

                    He's trying to remove nibbs.

I used a hot plate or the coils on the stove. Just touch the tip to the heat. Let them heat up from the inside out. No flame to worry about. Them pull them out with pliers.

Thanks everyone. I've got a few ideas that I will try. I have to be carefull with my grand daughter up my rear every second.

Oh by the way. The ones that are not cracked have pin nock inserts in the other end.
