I would have to say releasing an arrow on a whitetail or picking up a G-10 point! What in this world gets you most excited? There is one other thing but better not post it.

Next to hanging out with my kids, that moment when you know that you just won the chess match with a good buck and you are waiting for his last move so you can make yours. Love that feeling right before the shot.

Hanging out with the kid is hard to beat for sure! Thats what I'm doing now watching O Brother, Where Art Thou?
I love the feeling of right when you get drawn on an animal, you know that the shot is coming. That and feeling a big bass hit a worm. That little tap tap right before you cross his eyes with the hookset.
Having a big tom come in like he's on a string is hard to beat to me. Also stalking a BIG boar hog or BIG sow with little ones to within 15 yards and letting an arrow fly while thinking of an escape route at the same time!!!
Watching my son play varsity football, watching my daughter play Freshman basketball, being with my wife when the kids are spending the night with friends, watching a good buck walk within bow range and spotting a big bass on a bed and knowing I'm fixing to catch her with a DogHogg!!
In the hunting world- hunting a new species. Studying them, learning their habitat and tendencies. Also learning about the communities where these hunts take place.
Sunrise in the mountains while I'm waist deep in the river. The fog is just rising off the water its still calm you can see trout rising and the hatches just starting to float down the river. My fly-rod in hand and then that first fish that breaks all that peaceful beauty, you can see him rise and take the fly, the line gets tight the hook is set and now the battle has begun.

The chase is great. But for me it's usually the kill. That point when the arrow makes the loud THWOK and the animal runs and the legs start to go and BAM it's down. The whole "my kids" thing is over rated. I love seeing my son make a good kill but there is too much stress in trying to get it done with him that it's almost a relief when it's done. I'm excited but drained. I was high for a couple of weeks after killing the buck in my avatar. Wake up in the night with a smile on my face. Still give a fist pump now and then.
