I think you should get him a 50-60 lb SR71!

It'll take him a while to grow into it ... you can shoot it till then!

LOL that sounds like a good idea except for the 50 - 60 pound part. I have a hard enough time with 40 pounds!

The Martin Tiger is the best small kids bow I have ever seen! it is a little one cam bow and my son has been shooting it since he was 3. He shoots 3d with me with it as well.

If you want to try a stick bow try this feller. Jim Boswell

Email him and ask him to make you a wood bow for your child. He made my daughter one for next to nothing. Great people Ive guided him on three different hunts for a week at a time.

This is what I got my 6 yo daughter for Christmas and she absolutley loves it, very fun for her to shoot and the shoot through riser is great for beginning bowhunters. I highly recommend this one, I paid $70 for the whole kit off ebay. Good luck.

At that age my boys both shot these little fiberglass long bows from Academy ($25 maybe). They shot 3-D courses all over the state and had a blast and did well, best part is Dad didn't get heartburn every time they threw it on the ground to go chase a butterfly!

Don't over invest or over spend until you see if it is something the child will stick with. They out grow stuff way to fast!

Also if you look on Martin's website, just the bow is $48.75 and the arrows are $10.65. That's a little cheaper if you don't want the quiver, armguard or fingerabs. I think my 4 year old is getting this for his birthday.

PM sent... I also have a couple stick bows I made a while back from the instructions in the DIY section, I will see if I can find one of those too.
