    Your Ranch have a Website?

Okay no laughing, but I was considering putting together a cheapo website for our lease members showcasing LDP's over the last few years and communicating the deer management plan, protein feeding schedule, etc...to our 11 lease members. Plus, we have a real good ranch and have killed some pretty good deer over the last few years. Our members all like to bring down guests and extended family/kiddos to shoot culls and does and I thought it might be a fun way for some our our lease members to show off a bit and serve as a platform to show trail cam pics and video of deer we do and some we DO NOT want shot.

Just thought it might be a fun off season project, am I crazy? has anyone else done this?

be careful if you do not own your lease. some people may see the website and talk to the landowner and try and lease it out from under you. If you own your land or do not have to worry about losing the lease then i think it is a good idea.

Just do a yahoo groups sight and its free and you can allow you you want on there. It is also cool that you can put up a calendar that everyone can post on as well as a place for everyone to load pics.

I've been thinking about trying to get my lease members on facebook. Once everyone is on you can create another account for the ranch and set it up to be invitation only. That way only your lease members and any other friends (whomever you want to see it) can look at the page. It won't cost anything.

Google also provides group tools including calendars, documents, photo galleries etc.

X3 IMO I wouldn't do it either. We have a really exceptional relationship with our landowners and they are really good about telling us about all the times and all the underhanded things people have tried to get our lease away from us. This happens more often then not and if you are leasing you may want to take this into consideration.

My family made a website for our ranch this past fall. Mainly we did it for fun and we also sell just a few management hunts a year in order to cover our protein cost. It has been a fun project to undertake. It is constantly changing and upgrading pictures but it is nice to be able to show people what you are talking about when you don't have your personal computer or camera handy. Here is the link to our website if you want to take a peak for any ideas or whatever. Good luck. http://fivestarranches.com/

I considered some of this and planned on only using hunters first names and not detailing where the lease was on the site. We had a 179 B&C killed this year after several years of being patient so we are trying to get all our hunters as a whole to be more patient and let deer walk. I thought this website idea might help. We have had several 145 inch deer killed the last two years that could have been awesome if left alone for another year or two. We do have a really good relationship with the ownership, but money talks and suckers walk at some point I guess.

                  All feedback appreciated. Thanks TBH'ers.

I wouldnt do it, just advertising for your landowner to get more money.
