    Piggie Thoughts

Darn lazy hogs have started using the trail I use to get to one of my stands in order to get to the feeder I hunt over (I hunt in thick brush). The stand is set up perfect for the spring/summer because if the wind is out of the southeast, which it usually is, I shouldnt get busted, but with the hogs coming in on the exact trail I walk in on, I am thinking they might know something is up......

There is another trail they use where I should be okay and some do come in that way, but when I was watching the trailcam videos from last week I saw that about a third of the hogs were also coming right through where my trail is...

Any ideas other than rubber boots and scent spray?

Can you cut another trail in? I guess they would just start using that one too.

Make them go around somehow. A log, brush or something that you can step over but they can't. They'll go around.

You can try using Sow In Heat on your boots and use the same trail. You may get a boar to follow you in. You may spook females off. Just a thought.

Cheapo Rubber Boots. Put some baking soda on the insides once a week or so, spray the outside down with any decent scent killer. Step in any mud, sand, or cow patties you can walking in. Been doing it for years and have never had a deer or pig spook crossing my walk in trails. Any new trail you cut will just give them options. As for logs a lot of times they'll just clear a little path right around it as its easier than them forging a whole new trail.

My buddy and I used to put logs that would very nearly too heavy to pick up across our buried corn. It was a little sobering when an adult porker would put their head against said log and just send it spinning out of the way.

Try walking in bare foot and skipping. Just kidding, try the cow patty thing as stated above has worked well for me but some people thinks its nasty but if it works it works

x2 on forcing them to use another trail. We use brush and logs on out lease for the deer

I'm not a hunting scholar by any means, but why wouldn't you just then move your stand to the beginning of the trail. Why wait til they get to the end of the trail to kill em' (:-)

What Meatatarian said. It'll make for a shorter drag.
