Anyone have any comments or reviews on the Equalizer. I'm 5'6" and have have a 27" draw this bow looks like a good choice to get speeds close to 300fps.

Keep in mind that you can not get 70lb limbs on them, and that 300 fps is shooting a light, 300 gr arrow.
I, too, am cursed with a 27" draw. My Snyergy shoots 302 fps with a 336 gr arrow at 67#.
For hunting, I'm shooting a 400 gr arrow at 65# and getting 274 fps.
It's the fastest bow I've owned/shot with the 27" midget draw length.Last edited by Texastaxi; 05-08-2007, 09:04 AM.

Eq.
The Equalizer is a great bow. Like Texastaxi said it will only go up to 60#. I too have a 27" draw and went with the Allegiance. My Allegiance @ 27" 67# with a 380 gr arrow gives me 296 fps, with a 350 grain arrow I was getting 303.
If you think you will not want to shoot more than 60# than your alright, BUT if you want more because you might want to go for bigger game up north than you might consider something with a little more draw weight.

I am actually looking at the Equalizer for my next bow purchase. I like the fact that is it lightweight and has faster speeds for the short draw length. I shoot 27" draw so it should work out for me. I don't like the fact that you cannot get 70# limbs for them, but I only shoot ~62# now so its not that big of a deal to me.
I met two people in the last couple of months who shoot them, and neither of them had anything bad to say about the bow.
Honestly though, it looks exactly like the Allegiance with different cams to me (and likely different limbs).

They're good bows. I bought my wife one last year, she hasn't shot it much and I'm about to sell it. It has 50lb limbs on it. I just shot a 335gr arrow thru it maxed out at 52lbs, with 27" draw mods and it shot 265fps. Not bad. I would let it go for $500 if someone is interested. It's has mossy oak shadow grass camo, custom strings/cables and is in excellent condition.

I shot the Equalizer 60# and an Allegience 70# turned down to 60, wanted the Allegience but could not comfortably pull it, which I attribute to the aggressive cam profile, shot a Synergy 60# and bought it on the spot, will put 70# limbs on it later after my strength comes up to speed. The Synergy was $40 less than the Equalizer and $60 less than the Allegience. The tech at the shop explained that the Allegience was designed to shoot at the higher draw weights and would not perform as well if he did order me one in 60# as the Equalizer did at 60. Stuck at 60 w/Equalizer. Key to more speed at 27" draw length, more draw weight. Synergy is sweet and fast as is and has Barnsdale limbs out of the box. Yeah I'll have to put out for new limbs a bit later but I didn't have to buy two bows to move up. My 02, Rick
