Ok, I need some help. I shot 2 different demo bows yesterday. To keep from starting a "brand" war, I will refer to them as bow #1 and bow #2. They are two different brands. Bow #1 had a drop away rest on it and I was slapping my arrows right next to each other. Bow #2 had a Octane bisquit on it and my arrows were a few inches apart. Both bows shot so good that if I was blind folded I could not tell them apart. Question is- is it possible that the Octane rest could be off causing my arrows to not group well? I would think even if the rest was off that the arrows would still group? Or should I choose bow #1 because the demo grouped the arrows? Only reason I'm asking is because there is a price difference in the two. Thanks for any help or advise you can offer me.

Most shops don't take the time to properly setup any rest they put on a bow to use as a demo. They will somewhat centershot it and let it go. They probably spent a little more time installing the dropaway than they did on the hostage.
Don't let the rest issue sway you one way or the other at this time. Both will perform well if/when they are setup properly.Last edited by Blue Tick; 02-03-2010, 10:18 AM.

I will say the difference in the risers and grip was probably leading to the difference in grouping. NOBODY can pull 2 bows and shoot them that well to be able to blame the rest, especially on the demo bows. There could be 2-3 pounds of draw weight difference, making the arrows not spine right and affect grouping. It could be inconsistent anchor by the shooter causing it. Tuning being off a bit because it is a demo bow, being shot and handled every day by lots of people. I would suggest choosing either bow #1 or bow #2 because of the way it feels when YOU shoot it, not by how it groups as a demo. You will find a clear winner, and can dress it any way you choose with what ever rest you prefer. Then you can tune it to the rest/arrow combination, and shoot great groups regardless of the rest.

I like your style. Great idea with the #1 and #2.
I would pick #1 because #2 is obviously a piece of ****!
