Need help with the price of a pistol. Kimber 1911

I have a few things for sale and a guy I know wants to trade me a pistol he has for my stuff. I have seen it and it's a very nice looking gun but I know nothing about pistols. It's a Kimber 1911 .45 stainless TLE-ll, there is a description below.

Here is a cut from a email he sent last week. Can you guys tell me what it is worth if I wanted to sell it later on? I do not have a pic of it here on this computer.

The pistol is the Stainless TLE-ll .45ACP but it has the rose wood double diamond handle grips instead of the plastic black. It is stainless steel with rose wood grips. It comes in the original case with all paper work, an extra clip and combat ready holster (holster secures at waist and thigh). I also have two or three boxes of 45 shells- full metal jacket. It is in perfect (show) condition not one scratch or nick anywhere.

I would tell him its worth $1000 to you. But it is worth around $1200 used $1,400 new.

I'm at work so all gun links are blocked. I can look at those link later when I get home. I have access to TBH though.

I would think the stuff I have is worth 600 bucks. Hunting stuff and truck parts. He wants to do a straight trade. Wonder if it is stolen?

I told him the little I saw about the gun on the net ( work) it looked like he was getting the short end of the deal. He said he did not want to hassle with selling it.

Guess I will make the trade. It's easier to sell one thing than 6-8 different things.

I do not see myself keeping it.

Kimber is...cadillac of guns...hoyt of bows...rage of broadheads...I can't think of any other analogies at this time...

I'm not much on pistols, but the google search shows about 1000-1050 new, but they have the black grips. NOt including tax or FFL fee

Be aware, the TLE II has the rail, so it will not fit in most custom 1911 holsters. I carry a stainless TLE II on duty and paid, I think $1050.00 shipped no tax on gunbroker 2 years ago.

That being said.......I love the gun. If I had the money I'd have a few more Kimbers. I will in the future.
