    T.A.C. or C.C.B.A. and why?

So I am about to join of these two clubs. Living in McKinney Collin County Bowhunters Assoc. would be the obvious choice but after googling Texas Archery Club is almost exactly the same distance from door to range.

So which would you join and why? Thanks in advance.

I know guys in Both. I am personally in TAC, but don't think you can go wrong either way. I also think TAC has the better range? But it seems we have been plagued by some crime as of late!

I have shot a number of weekday shoots at TAC. I like it there with all of the shade cover in the summer. It is never cool in August, but the shade makes it a bit more comfortable. Never been to CCBA, so hard for me to say anything about it.

I know they do tours at TAC on Saturday mornings and one weeknight. Go check em both out...

In the past couple weeks we have had several incidents involving break-ins of storage buildings and a trailer....It appeared to be the same people hitting us repeatedly. On their last hit they got an air compressor, a riding mower (which didn't work anyway), and our gas grill. Pretty annoying, to say the least! However, these are the first problems we have had in several years.

So, aside from all that, we have a great club, great facilities, and a bunch of great members.......come check us out!

Join Texins. Getting ahold of CC is like getting a hold of the president. Plus we have a lit practice range. I have tried to join CC twice once even sent a check with a filed out app and no correspondence. Heck we could carpool down there.

I have shot at both and would say that Collin Co has the better 3-D range but TAC has the better target range. Like mentioned above, the tree shade at TAC is great in July and August.

If you want to check out Texins let me know guests are allowed for $5 and I'll take you down there.
Texas Archery Club is almost exactly the same distance from door to range.
And its freeway I can make it from My house Hardin/ Eldorado in 22 minutes.

Zen, I'm a member of TAC so I'm biased, but here are a few attractions at TAC.
                    1. Paved roads and fewer turns from McKinney.
                    2. 24/7/365 access with membership.
                    3. Lighted (most) ranges from 10-80+ yards.
                    4. 3D practice range.
                    5. Hunting set-ups (tripods, stands, pop-ups, platforms, broad head range) for practice.
                    6. League shoots starting in spring.
                    7. rgb (president) and the members are great people.

We look forward to your visit.

This was a tough decision for me last year....tougher this year since both clubs are hosting LSBA 3D events and helping the organization's efforts to grow in North Texas.

Both clubs have great folks involved in them....

Last year, the Wednesday night league shoots and the location tilted my decision over to TAC even though I'd never shot there before...I can make it to TAC in 15-20 minutes. I still managed to make a couple of CCBA weekend shoots last year but not as many. This year the TBoT shoot (at CCBA) is not gonna be the same weekend as the LSBA Banquet for the first time in several years...I'm excited to make that shoot finally.

The folks and facility at TAC are great and I have little doubt that I'll be a member again this year. The Wednesday league-crowd is a lot of fun (5-10 TBHers on any given night) and I enjoy the break in the middle of the week. But this year, I gotta find a way to support both clubs more in appreciation for their support of the LSBA.

Both clubs have shoots this month, maybe you should shoot both events and make up your mind afterward. IMO, you can't make a wrong choice here but one choice may be better for you than the other.

We have to wait til we have enough daylight, so our tentative start date for this year is March 30. Then we run the shoots thru mid-October...

I would pick TAC.... since I have been a member for 30 years or so.
