    Vacation and Need ADVICE!!!!

All right the short of it is, Im taking my wife and daughter to Tennessee to see my dad. He hasnt seen my baby girl in well over a year. The plan to start with is to go North through Dallas and up 30 through Arkansas, then 40 through Tennessee. He is halfway between Memphis and Nashville. We are obviously going to check them both out but are planning on taking the last two or three days to just enjoy the trip back.

My ? is would it be more fun to go back the way we went since we are not going to be doing alot of stopping or would it be more interesting to go down through Alabama and across Mississippi and Lousianna. I have been through the latter but never in the upper to middle parts of the states.

And if u got any ideas on which way where would be fun places to check out. Also remember I have a 2.5 yr old on this trip as well and its all in a car

I've been to Tennessee twice and both times we drove I-10 through Louisiana and caught I-59 all the way through Mississippi and Alabama and in to Chattanooga. There wasn't much to see other than mountains and trees. I mean...it's beautiful scenery but not much to do along the way but drive and drive then drive some more.

There is a lot to see in Memphis and Nashville. You may want to backtrack and make a few sites in Arkansas as well. (Hot Springs, Diamond Mine)

Go to Lookout Mountain in Chatanooga and see 5 states from the top. Check out the trains. If you come back thru Nashville and Memphis, you have alot of great music you can check out. Johnny Cash's homestead (however the house burned a couple years ago) Casey Jones Museum. And you can stop at the casino (if so inclined) outside Texarkana or iShreveport if you come that way.

Plenty to see and do either way you go to be honest. With a 2.5 year old you may truly want the fastest route back to get rested before you get back into the daily blind......especially for the wife.
