    Check your nocks for cracks!

    Yesterday i was shooting and i didnt know it but my nock had a crack in it... needles to say it was lik dryfiring a bow. I couldnt beleive that it happened but good thing i had a vise so i could fix it... but seriously check ur nocks!

    That is why I stopped shooting pin nocks. Found two in a row with cracks.

        yes, thats a good tip, also carbon arrows should be checked each time you shoot.

            I had an issue with cracks forming on the carbon fiber below the nocks. I found that some aftermarket nocks have burs on them and can cause cracks in your arrow when you fire them. I had and arrow consistently shooting low and right about 8 inches and then I found the problem. I am just glad that it did not splinter in my face.

              I had this happen to me on about the 5th shot on a new Mathews switchback i had bought the day before. The string up off the bottom cam and also bent the cam had to make a quick trip back to David's in Weatherford. I check all arrows before i shot now.

                  This is why I don’t run my wraps all the way to the back of the shaft anymore. I leave a gap so I can see the carbon just in front of the nock.

                    I remember you saying that. I think the wrap is the only thing that saved my face that day. Good advice
