last weekend a budy of mine that has a ranch in Pearsall hosted a Hunts for heroes (www.huntsforheroes.com) for wounded soldiers. Being it was doe and spike season thats what they hunted along with hogs. I was along to help clean deer, deliver to stands and cook. I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable times I have ever had. We had three wounded soldiers and the guy that works for the HFH. Their age ranged from 21 to mid fifties. They had a blast and each one was able to kill something. It was so nice to be able to give back to those who put thier lives in danger for our freedom. They were so appreciative and so were we just for them allowing us to spend time with them. If anyone has land or a ranch that can spare a few deer I urge you to get involved in this great program. My buddy is hoping to do this every year along with a turkey hunt in the spring. If anyone would like info on how to get started feel free to PM me. I wish I had pics but I did not take any, I may be able to get a few from my buddy though

That's cool. I always liked working hunts and watching the excitment of the hunters enjoying their kills, a lot different than being a hunter that weekend. I volunteered with the TYHP for several years and enjoyed every hunt, even though I wasn't hunting. I've always thought about moving on to volunteer with the wounded veterans hunts. Good Job!
and Oh yea...pics man! where's the pics?
