I just bought one last month. The cheapest I could find in the Houston area was in Katy. He beat everyone by a couple hundred dollars. If you know what you want, you can just call around and get a quote over the phone. None of the dealers were willing to negotiate.
Go to ProPower sports of Conroe. The owner Jeff Smith is a really good friend of mine. Ask to talk to him. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Dont get it from Alamo Cycle in San Antonio. I purchased a 2006 ranger 700 and love it. But when I went to the dealer and asked the salesman about the camo version turning purple....He assured me that problem was only on previous models and it has been fixed. It will not happen to any of the newer models and if it does polaris or Alamo would make it good. Hell, I knew I should have gotten it in writing. Two years after purchasing it and keeping it garaged the majority of the time it still ended up turning purple. Man nothing like a purple camo hunting ATV! So I went back and told Alamo Cycle the issue and you guess it ..... I am still waiting on an answer. I would have rather purchased a green color then deal with this problem. Now I can take it to Uvalde and there is a company that will recamo the ranger for another 1200.00.....
All in all its a great machine and everyone has a great time with it. It does most everything I ask it and then some.
why dont you just buy a 4000.00 jeep and keep the other 4000.00 dollars in your pocket
Because a jeep can't fit down most the river bottom trails on our place...
So to answer your question: South Texas, yes....Southeast Texas river bottom, no.
For a dealer, check out Genes Power Sports in Baytown; they have a great test driving area.
Also, dealers aren't negotiating too much right now. For the best deal, you'll have to be able to pay cash in full. If you can do this, they will knock off that $600 assembly fee and maybe another hundred or so on top of that. However, don't expect more than that. Also, another thing I've noticed is although a dealer may not want to play with price much, you may be able to negotiate a good price on a roof, winch, etc. There's not much difference in saving $200 on the vehicle price or getting $200 off an accessory you want.
